Find out how to control pests and weeds while reducing chemical use! On Saturday, August 1 there will be a Workshop on Integrated Pest Management, led by Robert Wood, IPM Program Manager for The City of Santa Fe and organized by the Railyard Park Stewards. The workshop will cover pest management and weed identification. Integrated pest management is a pest control strategy that uses a variety of complementary strategies; it is an ecological approach with a main goal of significantly reducing or eliminating the use of pesticides.
The workshop is from 10 - 11:30 a.m. Meet at the picnic benches (the park parking lot behind Site Santa Fe). Please bring sunscreen and something to write with. RSVP to railyardstewards@gmail.com.
This is a great opportunity for gardeners! The workshop is free, but we recommend donating 2 hours of volunteer time working in the lovely gardens of the Railyard Park (there will be an opportunity to volunteer after the workshop and many additional opportunities).
