The Green Line

Hi again,

Since I was gone last week I missed this little gem - a USGS report just released regarding water quality in domestic wells.

Nitrate is the only human-caused contaminant found in the test of 1,700 wells in the major water basins of 48 states. But one in five wells was found to be above safe drinking water standards for naturally occurring inorganics like arsenic, uranium and more. In NM, several wells along the Rio Grande were tested.

PNM load forecaster Steve Martin alerted us to causes of electric load increase sources - including pumping water.

Here's an April 6, 2009 photo tour of Rio Rancho illustrating problems.

An at PNM electric integrated resource planning session brought up who is paying for installation of the NEW electric facilities on the west side. He did not sound happy.

Perhaps the Santa Fe New Mexican should investigate than report on who is paying to install the water and electric facilities on the west side? The new construction industry?
