I keep hoping the brilliant folks at the Santa Fe Complex or LANL will develop an even more brilliant version of this virtual water game created for Lake Mead. The game teaches people a little about the problems of trying to keep water in the lake while letting Las Vegas "grow like a weed." Imagine a similar game for Rio Grande water allocations. It would allow players to try and meet all the needs of acequias, farmers, wildlife, tribes, Santa Fe, Albuquerque and other towns along the Rio Grande while still meeting water obligations to Texas.
This would be the perfect project for an enterprising techno water geek and I bet there's funding available out there.
